As a key member of our Human Resources team, the Global Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for the accurate and compliant payroll processing for over 600 employees across North America, EMEA, LATAM, and Australia. This role also encompasses the effective administration of North American benefit plans. Reporting to the Senior Director, People Operations, you will manage global payroll and benefits changes, address employee inquiries, and contribute to strategic projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll for salaried employees globally.
  • Assist with the year-end payroll process across all regions.
  • Support reconciliation processes and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding, offboarding, and management of changes within payroll, retirement, and benefit systems.
  • Update payroll records for changes in exemptions, benefit coverage, savings deductions, job titles, and department/division transfers.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll procedures and benefits.
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations and vacation accruals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global tax and regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant payroll experience in a diverse, complex operational environment; global payroll experience is a plus.
  • Payroll certification required, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll systems; experience with UKG or similar in-house systems is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain organization in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong numeracy skills and a passion for numerical data and complex calculations.
  • Proficiency in English is required.

Success Factors

1-3 Months:

  • Begin processing payrolls under supervision.
  • Effectively respond to employee inquiries about payroll procedures and benefits.
  • Gain familiarity with company-specific payroll software (UKG/CloudPay).
  • Develop a detailed understanding of global tax and regulatory changes.
  • Complete training on country-specific payroll processes and how payrolls are processed in each country.

4-6 Months:

  • Independently manage end-to-end payroll for salaried employees globally.
  • Contribute to the year-end payroll process across all regions.
  • Provide support for reconciliation processes and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure smooth handling of onboarding, offboarding, and changes in payroll, retirement, and benefit systems.
  • Master advanced features of payroll software.
  • Understand strategies for optimizing payroll and benefits administration.
  • Handle complex payroll adjustments.
  • Manage comprehensive benefits enrollments and changes.

7 Months & Beyond:

  • Lead payroll and benefits processes.
  • Implement process improvements for payroll and benefits.
