Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and passed the paraprofessional exam OR Associate’s degree or higher
  • Prior experience working with children in a school setting
  • Ability to obtain a Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support with campus-wide activities such as lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal to ensure student safety
  • Support lead teachers in delivering instruction by assisting with lesson activities, classroom management, and transitions
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce skills, reteach concepts, and support individualized learning plans
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and engagement
  • Substitute for lead teachers as needed to ensure learning continues uninterrupted
  • Prepare instructional materials, set up classroom resources, and assist with grading or documentation as directed
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of students
  • Model professionalism, respect, and high expectations in every interaction with students, staff, and families
