Candidates must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current and valid state nursing license, and possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent. Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) is required, and experience in hemodialysis is preferred. Strong assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills are necessary, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care to assigned patients undergoing hemodialysis, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. This includes collecting and analyzing patient data, making treatment plan adjustments, educating patients and families, administering medications, initiating emergency response measures, and serving as a resource for the health care team. They will also ensure correct laboratory procedures are followed, update nursing assessments and plans of care, and participate in quality improvement activities.
