Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare drawings for the construction of new overhead or underground links, cables, and conduits to obtain optimum and economical utilization of communications facilities
  • Select the most cost-beneficial route for all lines and equipment for projects
  • Prepare detailed construction and installation drawings and provide estimates of labor and material costs
  • Design fiber cable fields, splicing sequences, planning and prepare cost estimates and design loss calculations to accomplish OSP construction projects; delivering FTTH network from source to the point at which Service Operations Technicians can turn up service
  • Map and draft utilizing CAD and manual processes & research and update International Construction Measurement Standards (ICMS) records, appropriate permits, and ISP designs
  • Manage and track OSP work schedules to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines
  • Develop cost studies, perform estimates, report on project progress, as well budget forecasting, tracking, & reporting
  • Liaise with city officials to manage permitting processes and ensure compliance
  • Liaise with customers regarding land acquisitions for easements
  • Provide real-time direction to colleagues to meet project timelines & contractual obligations
  • Communicate and appropriately escalate contractual, technical, or scheduling requirements that are in jeopardy
