Requirements

Candidates must have at least 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution center or warehouse environment, and 1-2 years of operations experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and Google Suite is required, along with familiarity with Warehouse Management Software. Experience with Workday is preferred. The role demands effective communication skills for all levels of staff, basic math and Excel formula understanding, and the ability to maintain confidentiality, follow procedures, and exercise sound judgment. Physical requirements include the ability to stand/walk for 8-12 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

The Operations Manager will oversee shift management for approximately 250 workers and 4-5 management staff, assisting the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. Responsibilities include conducting pre-shift meetings, ensuring shifts meet production and labor targets, and sending out detailed shift reports. The manager will provide guidance to supervisors on personnel, quality, and safety matters, resolve employee relations issues with HR support, and facilitate daily meetings to communicate changes and updates. They will promote teamwork and open communication between shifts and departments, foster a positive work environment, and create daily shift planners for maximum efficiency. The role involves developing and implementing operating methods to improve process quality, coordinating distribution activities for optimal resource utilization, and ensuring team member safety through training and exemplary conduct. Overtime may be required during peak periods.
