Requirements

  • Work within a cross-functional project team through all phases of the product development process, including planning and executing projects through product launch and post-launch support
  • Collaborate closely with project core team members (R&D, Quality Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Sourcing, Plan, External Manufacturers, etc.)
  • Define user needs, generate design concepts and prototypes, perform design evaluations (e.g., tolerance analysis, FEA, DOEs, simulated use testing)
  • Support development of product and process validation plans and testing during the product life cycle
  • Develop and evaluate test methods for proposed designs
  • Work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and produce prototypes
  • Demonstrate understanding of design controls and development processes
  • Prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interface effectively with others in the project team

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality engineers, and External Manufacturers to develop new product designs and support the life cycle of existing products in a cross-functional team environment, focusing on innovative Product Management solutions for heart rhythm disorders
  • Establish the relationship between product design features and selected manufacturing methods
  • Provide detailed assessments and critical Design for Product Management reviews of engineering designs/drawings of components and assemblies
  • Participate in design reviews to assess design intent, manufacturability, proper dimensioning, and tolerancing of components and assemblies to enable transition into the Product Management environment
  • Manage the Product Management of prototypes used in new product development, including selecting appropriate prototype methods and executing prototyping
