Requirements

  • High School Degree and Laboratory assistant diploma, Or 50% of completed bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or Biology

Responsibilities

  • Support the Microbiology Laboratory: General laboratory cleaning (washing of materials, cleaning surfaces, etc.), Equipment preparation and sterilization/depyrogenation, Material Preparation (packaging and sterilization), Preparation of specialty test samples, Maintain the necessary testing supplies in stock and ordering and distribution of supplies, Preparation of required media and fluids, Collaborate in inventory tracking for different tests’ needs, Waste disposal as required
  • Perform Test Procedures and Environmental Monitoring: Perform sterility testing of devices and components, Perform bioburden estimation of devices, components, and solutions, Perform Endotoxin Testing of devices, components and solution, Collect raw material samples if required, Perform identification of microbial isolates, Perform Validation testing for product sterilization cycles and products test procedures, Ensures that raw materials and finished product requiring testing are sampled and tested, Record Equipment Monitoring System, Perform and document the Test results (media liquid and media plates)
  • Perform the predetermined sampling and testing schedule to ensure that the controlled environment rooms and water systems meet the environmental, validation and Calibration specification requirements, Perform Laboratory Equipment Qualification, Maintain all required laboratory instruments and equipment validated and calibration, Assist in the validation of the CAE room and supporting systems and the water systems
  • Documentation: Accurate record keeping of lab procedures performed and their results, Maintain and file all laboratory test data and reports, Evaluate and maintain trend charts of environmental test data, water system, product tests and other microbiology related data, Maintain traceability of clinical product used for testing, Conduct investigations and generates reports out of specifications (OOS/GI)
  • Training: Provide training to plant personnel regarding environmental, hygiene, product sampling and others as requested, Train other technicians in laboratory testing when required
