Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience, typically with a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent practical experience in an operational trade compliance and logistics role
  • Advanced computer skills, including expertise in Google Workspace or MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access)
  • Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and external agencies

Responsibilities

  • Lead trade and logistics strategy by managing duty and freight expenses, coordinating with customs brokers and carriers, and ensuring seamless import/export operations
  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes and guide the team through them
  • Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of logistics and trade compliance processes, controls, and communication
  • Identify gaps, propose practical solutions, and partner with site leadership and the Corporate Trade Compliance team to implement enhancements
  • Champion process improvements, lead automation projects for trade and logistics, and identify opportunities to reduce freight rates and premium service costs
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, including evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and providing coaching and development
  • Oversee service providers and act as the primary liaison with government agencies to enhance Plexus's global trade program
