A Bachelor's Degree or 10+ years of equivalent education and experience is required. Candidates must have 5-7 years of related operations and management experience in a warehouse or distribution environment and be familiar with OSHA regulations. Strong understanding of budgeting, the ability to interpret P&Ls, excellent communication, interpersonal, and professional interactive skills are necessary. The ability to write reports, present information, and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management, and inter-department staff is also required, as are strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and develop individuals and teams.
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing and directing daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations, including product receiving, replenishment, order selection, order loading, facility expense, and revenue management. They must ensure adherence to company policies and government regulations while providing superior customer service and maintaining the safety and security of the facility. Responsibilities include managing the daily workload and safety of warehouse supervisors and associates, reviewing and setting priorities to ensure orders are correct, complete, and leave on time. The manager will coordinate with other departments for upgrades and repairs, establish and implement processes for inventory management goals, suggest efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures, and review shipping and loading audits. They will also ensure day-to-day management and associate activities align with a safety strategy, maintain a safe and healthy work environment, and direct, coordinate, and monitor the daily activities and performance of the operations team to assure compliance with company policies, procedures, quality, and safety standards. Additionally, they will coach and develop a team, oversee employee relations, participate in staff selection, performance and compensation evaluations, corrective action, and terminations, establish performance goals, monitor progress, provide feedback, manage employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring, and conflict resolution, take corrective action as necessary, provide or coordinate training, consult with Human Resources, and conduct regular department meetings.
