Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of confirmed experience and responsibility in the maintenance field (preferred)
  • Equipment maintenance experience (preferred)
  • Pharmaceutical experience (preferred)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Industrial mechanical maintenance experience
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance or education in the trades
  • Strong competence in mechanical work and knowledge of electrical and most mechanical systems
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to use technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Apply Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrate and drive the Thermo Fisher values – Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation (The Four I’s)
  • Understand mechanical/electrical schematics and diagnose & repair equipment problems related to sensors & electrical wiring
  • Fix, repair, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities
  • Perform basic mechanical work, thread repair, motor replacements, gearbox replacements, soldering, bearing replacement, machine rebuilds, and machine adjustments
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns
  • Inspect equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, preventative maintenance, etc
  • Support in solving and repairing process equipment and machines
  • Assist with installation and modification of equipment and systems
  • Follow all Company directives and regulations concerning building operations and practice safe work habits
  • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in equipment, facility and grounds maintenance
  • Finish the required safety training on time as assigned by the company
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Resolve tools and supplies needed for each different type of equipment center
  • Support maintenance strategy efforts for PPI continuous improvement
  • Document work details through CMMS (Maximo)
  • Document work in equipment logbooks
  • Ensure all process equipment is running at optimal efficiency
  • Coordinate with designated vendors to carry out regular scheduled preventative maintenance with a strong mechanical focus
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
