Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or experience in detailing and fabrication
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to production or productivity problems
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Tekla, FeatureCam, Polyworks, Station Total, Laser Tracker Faro, and other software preferred
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
  • Ability to schedule events, programs, activities, and the work of others
  • Willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction
  • Computer knowledge, expertise in AutoCAD and Polyworks
  • Analytical mind with 3D vision capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Take factory measurements using “Station Total” and “Laser Tracker Faro” surveying tools
  • Complete dimensional measurements
  • Record data and write reports
  • Assist Plant Manager and production staff in developing production plans
  • Ensure production objectives are met, offer recommendations, and implement production events and programs
  • Assist in the production-planning process, schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
  • Read and analyze data, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production productivity and evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Identify direct and indirect labor issues and production problems, make recommendations, and assist management in developing a corrective action plan
  • Compile production planning notes, sketches, prints, schedules, contract documents, and specifications into a formal build plan
  • Aid in the detailing and manipulation of models to accommodate additional views for fabrication per planning session
  • Assist in designing fixtures and jigs to aid fabrication
  • Responsible for conventional and CNC machining, including managing direct labor to accomplish coverage on equipment in support of production needs
  • Train and assist production members in the operation of conventional and CNC machining equipment in line with formal build plans
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
