Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and ideally have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Medical Assisting, Healthcare Administration, or a science field. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is beneficial, and a strong interest in medicine and clinical documentation is required.
The Medical Scribe will document patient encounters in real-time, joining the provider in the exam room to observe and record information, and assisting with preparing After Visit Summaries. They will also assign appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes, consult with providers to ensure accurate documentation, and contribute to Clinical Documentation Improvement efforts by requesting and reviewing medical records. Furthermore, Scribes will participate in Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews, leveraging population health tools to support care gap identification and closure, and receive extensive training in value-based care and chronic condition management.
