Requirements

Candidates must possess state or national certification as a medical assistant, or have graduated from an accredited medical assistant course, and hold a current CPR or BLS certification. They should also have at least one year of experience as a medical assistant and demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical record systems, including Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets, and the ability to quickly navigate and use multiple computer programs.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will ensure an efficient patient flow by rooming patients promptly, taking vital signs, completing screenings, and reviewing medications. They will also inventory supplies, respond to patient requests for telephonic support, administer vaccinations and perform point-of-care tests such as A1C, spirometry, EKGs, and blood draws, import documents into the EMR, participate in care team meetings, process orders for durable medical equipment, request medical records, conduct routine quality control checks, and maintain center lab operations, as well as perform other duties as assigned.
