Requirements

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3 years of machine design experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor 3-D modeling software or equivalent
Understanding of continuous motion manufacturing
Knowledge and experience with manufacturing automation, Allen Bradley PLC systems
Knowledge of mechanical components (gear reducers, indexers, drive components)

Responsibilities

Provides mechanical system design and architecture for automated machines and mechanical equipment
Independently develops and reviews user requirements, design specifications, and system validation documents
Provides leadership of and participation in design and project teams
Offers global technical consultation services for Lilly Manufacturing and Lilly Research Labs
Participates in and executes Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities
Responsible for creating design documents, including Functional Design Specification (FDS), Software Hardware Design Specification (SHDS), User’s Manual, and Safety Assessment
