Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of machine design experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor 3-D modeling software or equivalent
  • Understanding of continuous motion manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing automation, Allen Bradley PLC systems
  • Knowledge of mechanical components (gear reducers, indexers, drive components)

Responsibilities

  • Provides mechanical system design and architecture for automated machines and mechanical equipment
  • Independently develops and reviews user requirements, design specifications, and system validation documents
  • Provides leadership of and participation in design and project teams
  • Offers global technical consultation services for Lilly Manufacturing and Lilly Research Labs
  • Participates in and executes Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities
  • Responsible for creating design documents, including Functional Design Specification (FDS), Software Hardware Design Specification (SHDS), User’s Manual, and Safety Assessment
