Requirements

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline (including General, Mechanical, Production/Manufacturing, Aeronautical/Aerospace, and Electrical/Electronics), or Physics, Astronomy, Materials Science, or Technology

Responsibilities

  • Work in Mechanical Design, involving all stages from concept development through to manufacture, using CAD tools, and participating in laboratory test programs
  • Work in Mechanical Future Concepts, involved in early stages of missile technology lifecycle including concept development and R&D studies
  • Work in Mechanical Analysis, supporting the design process using FEA tools and laboratory testing for stress and thermal analysis
  • Work in Actuation Systems, contributing to electro-mechanical design of fin, wing, and seeker actuation systems in a multidisciplinary and potentially international team
  • Work in Materials and Processes Group, informing design teams on choice of materials and processes, including research on novel materials and practical lab-based assessments
  • Contribute to development of physical solutions from concept through development, certification, to production on missiles and weapon systems
  • Collaborate with highly qualified engineers and technical specialists on multinational defence projects
  • Engage in hands-on work experience with hardware across placements to understand products
  • Participate in internal research, design and analysis, integration, tooling, and testing
