Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 to 7 years of related experience, along with experience working with HVAC and plumbing projects specifically for water and wastewater facilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required, as well as self-motivation and the ability to work effectively with others.
The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical planning and design support for water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects, including combined sewer overflow facilities, pump stations, and wastewater/water treatment plants. They will prepare engineering calculations, conduct alternative analysis, utilize effective technical writing skills to document design decisions, prepare design reports and construction plans, assist with specifications and permit submittals, monitor project budgets and progress, document design changes, and conduct on-site inspections. Additionally, the role involves assisting with proposal preparation, attending client meetings, maintaining client relations, ensuring a safe working environment, and preparing project status reports.
