Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management or a related field is required, preferably within the defense, aerospace, or maritime industries. Strong knowledge of material procurement, inventory management, and logistics is essential, along with familiarity with DoD procurement processes.
The Materials Supervisor will oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials for the production of autonomous vessels. Responsibilities include ensuring proper inventory levels, coordinating with receiving teams for timely inspection of materials, and negotiating pricing and lead times. The role also involves ensuring compliance with industry standards and DoD requirements, maintaining an efficient inventory control system, coordinating logistics for incoming materials, and supervising a team of material handlers. Additionally, the supervisor will maintain documentation and reporting on material usage and collaborate with engineering and production departments to support the development of autonomous vessels.
