Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of progressive engineering experience in a production setting
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, equipment qualification, and production support
  • Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing different projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
  • Ability to drive projects to successful completion while maintaining strict quality standards
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Able to work in a manufacturing setting, stand for long periods, lift up to 35 pounds, and follow safety rules

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and cultivate a group of engineers and technicians, guaranteeing alignment with site objectives and performance measures
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement consistent with Thermo Fisher’s 4-I values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
  • Lead the evaluation, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment to optimize production performance
  • Oversee troubleshooting and technical support on the shop floor to resolve issues impacting throughput, yield, or quality
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and validation records
  • Manage and approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and support new product introduction (NPI) from concept through production readiness
  • Drive lean manufacturing and PPI (Practical Process Improvement) initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve quality, and eliminate waste
  • Identify and justify capital investments that improve efficiency or product quality
  • Partner closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to identify and implement process improvements, reduce waste, optimize equipment utilization, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
