A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related hardware engineering field is required. Candidates must have 2 to 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a Capital Equipment Manufacturing environment. Experience with CAD systems, DFX for mechanical and electrical designs including modeling and drawing creation with GD&T, and the full product lifecycle from concept through production, including PLM familiarity, is necessary. Hands-on experience with building and assembly, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optical assemblies and systems, writing manufacturing and test procedures, reading schematics and wiring diagrams, and knowledge of sensors and mechanical tool use are also required.
The Manufacturing Engineer will drive continuous improvement and resolve manufacturing issues to ensure product reliability and quality throughout the product lifecycle. This role involves influencing the production process flow from new product development to subsystem assembly and system integration testing. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams on DFX and continuous improvement initiatives, working on process improvement, end-of-life processes, PLM, and root cause analysis for non-conformances. The engineer will develop, document, and deploy unit tests for mechanical, electrical, and optical components, support compliance with ISO9000 and AS9100 standards, and propose and deliver continuous improvement projects using 5s and Lean principles. Guiding new product introduction from prototype to production release, creating and updating assembly and testing documentation, managing ECOs and CCB processes, and participating in MRB activities are also key duties.
