Requirements

Candidates must possess a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Proven experience managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams with a focus on operational excellence is required. Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive best practices, and deliver continuous improvement is essential. Broad exposure to the end-to-end product engineering stack, from frontend to infrastructure, along with experience with SOA or microservice-based architectures, large scale distributed systems, and common cloud platforms like AWS/GCP, is necessary. Strong organizational, communication, and people leadership skills are a must. Familiarity with Python, Go, Node, React or other web development frameworks/languages, experience with PostgreSQL (or similar relational database) and data warehouse technologies like BigQuery or Amazon Redshift, and a passion for self-driving technology are required. A background in robotics, ROS, or the AV/ADAS industry, scientific analysis experience, and experience with building high quality dev productivity tools or SQL-based data transformation tools such as DBT are preferred.

Responsibilities

The Manager of Validation, Tools, & Acceleration will lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team responsible for building and optimizing the infrastructure and technology for all testing and evaluation workflows. This role involves setting and communicating the technical vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives, and managing team growth and performance. The manager will oversee the design and implementation of systems capable of supporting simulation of millions of miles of driving daily to predict on-road performance. They will drive the delivery of reliable software through effective project management, continuous integration, and best engineering practices, and promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture. Responsibilities also include recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top-tier engineering talent, and collaborating cross-functionally with other teams to ensure seamless integration of validation tools and workflows.
