Responsibilities

  • Fleet Management: Operating and scaling the entire Search fleet, ensuring global performance and reliability
  • Incident Reduction: Reducing and maintaining incident levels through actionable KPIs and well-defined SLOs, while delegating Tier 3 support responsibilities
  • Edge Load Balancer: Running and continuously improving the in-house Edge Load Balancer
  • Backup & Restore: Building, operating, and enhancing a robust backup and restore system to ensure compliance with SLAs
  • FinOps: Monitoring infrastructure costs at scale and identifying optimization opportunities
  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborating with senior leadership to define the technical direction and strategy for the organization, aligning the SRE team's goals
  • Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization
  • Team Leadership: Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, fostering their development
  • Process Enforcement: Establishing and enforcing engineering processes and best practices for high-quality, reliable, and scalable systems
  • SLA/KPI Management: Defining and maintaining SLAs and KPIs for team services, ensuring their achievement
  • Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Leading cross-functional efforts to resolve complex technical issues and mitigate operational risks
