Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy or related science preferred (equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered)
  • 5+ years of operations experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a related industry preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Technical and operational knowledge in pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly aseptic processing operations
  • Ability to balance multiple ongoing activities and prioritize tasks
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship of any kind now or in the future
  • Able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a drug screen
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Compliance with cleanroom conditions: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc. allowed; no contact lenses (prescriptive glasses provided)
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating day shifts (2/2/3 schedule, 6AM-6PM)
  • Tolerance for some degree of PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure personnel is trained accurately
  • Manage day-to-day operation of sterile manufacturing and filling lines, including maintaining compliance status of the area
  • Establish and maintain schedules, provide ethical oversight to ongoing operations, and troubleshoot issues
  • Lead filling operations by directing daily production activities and ensuring scheduled activities are performed as planned
  • Ensure GMP compliance and meet requirements of Thermo Fisher quality systems
  • Monitor production efficiencies and take action to lower variable standard costs
  • Lead team administrative duties: plan and describe jobs, review performance, hire, reward, discipline, guide development, foster collaboration, and assign responsibilities
  • Prepare expense and headcount budgets; ensure budget targets are met while providing production operations with adequate resources to meet customer demands
  • Support the company’s safety program to improve safety awareness and provide a safe work environment
  • Follow all job-related safety and other training requirements
  • Interact with customers in the commercial operation of the lines and handle customer and regulatory interactions effectively
