Requirements

  • 3+ years of network-related technical experience, some of which was in a supervisory role
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages team of employees, including technicians, installers and mechanics
  • Leads regular huddles to discuss and direct assignments
  • Oversees the flow and distribution of inventory and supplies
  • Manages projects, including coordination of materials, scheduling and third-party vendors
  • Works with dispatch in apportioning work orders amongst crew and ensuring allocation of work
  • Maintains technician work schedules and attendance management
  • Maintains and reviews records used to supervise employees, such as work order close out narratives, key metric reports, and time entries
  • Identifies potential issues and missed customer-service opportunities from prior days’ work
  • Provides feedback, training, and coaching to employees; ensures employees exhibit care and proper handling of hardware
  • Evaluates and appraises employee performance
  • Recommends promotions for high-performing employees and discipline for employees who fail to meet expectations
  • Interviews and gauges the skill level of potential hires and transfers; handles employee grievances consistent with the collective bargaining agreement at the step one level
  • Identifies and removes roadblocks to safety and efficient performance by employees
  • Conducts in-field safety and quality inspections to ensure employees are performing work properly and safely
  • Acts as single point of contact for virtually all customer escalations and resolves customer complaints on behalf of company
  • Oversees and optimizes the planning, deployment, maintenance, and performance of network infrastructure
  • Directs and develops teams to ensure seamless connectivity, compliance with company and regulatory policies, and efficient operation and support of services including wireless, wireline, VOIP, video, and data
