Responsibilities

  • Manage daily activities of the Government and Community Affairs department at the state, region, or division level
  • Assist with local regulatory, franchising, and public policy matters for assigned geographic area
  • Implement legislative strategies, monitor legislation, and coordinate state association management
  • Manage a team including exempt and non-exempt employees and provide subject matter guidance
  • Develop processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies
  • Assist in development and meeting of departmental budget
  • Manage franchise renewal and transfer efforts for assigned franchises consistent with market strategies
  • Prepare franchise renewal applications and supporting data for renewal negotiations and assist in renewal strategy
  • Participate in franchise renewal negotiations with municipalities and/or their consultants
  • Support the government relations and public policy strategy for the market
  • Identify important municipal issues of significance to the company
  • Draft, analyze, and/or present legislation, amendments, and testimony as necessary
  • Oversee franchise-required construction installation of complimentary cable services to public buildings, including negotiation of additional terms with Local Franchise Authorities (LFA)
  • Review, interpret, and communicate terms and conditions of franchises, franchise-related agreements, and other contracts to ensure compliance
  • Manage service complaints associated with complimentary services
  • Oversee additional duties related to community affairs
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
