Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of departments (Food Service, Gift Shop, Salon Services, Chaplaincy, and Activities), including establishing goals, objectives, standards of performance, and developing policies/procedures
Manage overall daily operations to assure quality services to residents, tenants, and guests
Provide for the analysis, collection, and maintenance of records as needed by CMS, SD Health Department, Quality Improvement, Dept. of Labor, OSHA, or as required by law
Assist in the preparation of the departmental annual budget and take appropriate action to achieve budgeted objectives and meet cost/expense goals
Select, develop, motivate, evaluate, and manage subordinates, including detecting performance issues, initiating corrective actions, and working with Human Resources
Consult with the Administrator on operational problems and design methods/procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and control
Identify and recommend changes in departmental policies, plans, or programs affecting employee morale, attitude, and retention
Assist the Administrator with immediate and future goals/objectives for the departments; oversee scheduling and maintain appropriate staffing levels
Perform accurate and timely assessments of residents' nutritional status, including obtaining/interpreting information on nutritional needs, knowledge, and readiness to learn
Document nutritional assessments, develop individualized nutritional care plans, document implementation, and evaluate resident responses
Provide instruction to residents/families based on assessments, initiate physician recommendations, correlate nutritional progress, and communicate to healthcare team members
Participate in construction/facility upgrades and coordinate activities of activities and chaplaincy departments
Perform cash deposits, reconciliation, updates to CBORD retail management system, Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) submissions, and audits
Interview, hire, develop, train, retain employees; plan, assign, lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
