Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product development of refuse vehicles or heavy equipment including welded structures and hydraulics
  • At least 3 years management or supervisory experience leading new product development
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes, and manufacturability of designs
  • Strong operational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
  • Experience with new product launches, continuous improvement and directing strategic initiatives
  • Electric vehicle experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Hire and direct staff of team members to acquire necessary skills to meet scheduled commitments. Lead and Develop the Pit crew team in support of talent development initiatives
  • Provide Technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management for all projects
  • Ensure the optimal application of technology and resources to meet timelines and requirements. Support Development Engineering Design Reviews and provide feedback during prototype construction, testing and field trials
  • Direct the transition of Engineering designs from prototype builds through hand-off with manufacturing to improve new product launch success
  • Lead VOC and non-standard option development, testing and hand off to development or sustaining engineering
  • Lead Technology roadmap and strategic plan concepting and hand off to Development Engineering
  • Direct team members and managers in prototype part procurement, manufacturing, inspection and storage
  • Lead problem solving as required
