Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of experience in product development of refuse vehicles or heavy equipment including welded structures and hydraulics
At least 3 years management or supervisory experience leading new product development
Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes, and manufacturability of designs
Strong operational and project management skills
Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
Experience with new product launches, continuous improvement and directing strategic initiatives
Electric vehicle experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Hire and direct staff of team members to acquire necessary skills to meet scheduled commitments. Lead and Develop the Pit crew team in support of talent development initiatives
Provide Technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management for all projects
Ensure the optimal application of technology and resources to meet timelines and requirements. Support Development Engineering Design Reviews and provide feedback during prototype construction, testing and field trials
Direct the transition of Engineering designs from prototype builds through hand-off with manufacturing to improve new product launch success
Lead VOC and non-standard option development, testing and hand off to development or sustaining engineering
Lead Technology roadmap and strategic plan concepting and hand off to Development Engineering
Direct team members and managers in prototype part procurement, manufacturing, inspection and storage
Lead problem solving as required
