Requirements

  • Accredited Mechanical engineering degree or closely related technical degree with 13+ years of experience
  • Advanced degree highly desired
  • Product development experience leading NPIs & current production for mining industries highly desirable
  • Experience with wheeled mining products end-to-end product development for systems, including collaboration with Manufacturing, Test, and/or Product Support
  • 6 Sigma Black Belt with strong product understanding at system & sub-systems integration level
  • Working Knowledge of Planning: Tactical, Strategic (contributes to short-term operational plans, anticipates/adapts to changes, monitors progress, reports variances, develops tactical plans under guidance)
  • Working Knowledge of Effective Communications (delivers helpful feedback, listens without defensiveness, makes oral presentations/writes reports, avoids jargon, considers non-verbal cues)

Responsibilities

  • Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineering teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders
  • Providing specialized engineering technical support and consulting services to various areas of the organization
  • Managing high-impact, short and long duration engineering initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan and product quality
  • Maintaining product release plans and material plans; driving programs to completion on time and within budget
  • Overseeing engineering activities related to design and development of technologies, components, systems, products, or services for Wheeled Mining Products, focusing on Load & Haul Products (leads L4 systems: light structures, large structures, engine installation, hydraulics integration)
  • Working closely with functional teams across factories and supplier locations to meet product quality, velocity, and cost objectives
  • Promoting a positive work environment and teamwork
  • Interacting with diverse cultural backgrounds to make informed decisions and foster advanced talent development in support of critical programs and business needs
  • Making decisions impacting one or more products, processes, or factories, working with work group/project team, division/business unit, suppliers, internal/external customers, and the market
