Responsibilities

  • Oversight of full billing process across team to ensure timeliness and accuracy: monitors billing request status; reviews monthly unbilled and credit trackers; co-ordinates cover during team absence; ensures all internal processes relating to approvals and escalations are followed; ensures team have access to and are using available systems/tools/reports/trackers to identify billing opportunities and clear unbilled costs; ensures full and up to date billing process and guidance documentation is in place
  • Good awareness of Customer requirements: ensures team are tracking and meeting these effectively; proposes efficient solutions in meeting non-standard requirements; leads discussions when requirements cannot be met due to system limitations
  • Collaborates effectively with other teams across the organization to ensure timely resolution of all billing related queries; builds strong relationships within other functions; supports team where needed with internal and external communications
  • Drives process improvement and standardization: seeks and provides constructive feedback on improvement opportunities; highlights where further training and guidance is required across the team and wider organization and assists in delivering this; communicates regular process reminders; leads cross department meetings to improve processes; assists in the resolution of system errors, assists in the design, enhancement, defect resolution and testing of reports and RPAs; leads process optimisation initiatives
  • Leads recruitment efforts; co-ordinates new team member onboarding and training; provides continued support
  • Focuses on development, engagement, and retention of team: support and coaching during regular one to ones; career development discussions; goal setting and performance reviews; appropriate allocation of customers and tasks across team; soft skills training; recognition of achievements; team re-structures; promotion of teamwork through regular trainings, meetings, and social events
  • Defines the appropriate KPIs and metrics to measure billing productivity and efficiency, assists in gathering measurement data and reviews results monthly
  • Prepares monthly reporting to analyze billing trends, results against targets, credit volumes, request errors and billing timeliness; process walkthroughs and supply of billing data for internal and customer audits
  • Delivers clear and timely communication of company or team goals and any changes that will impact the team
