Requirements

  • B.Sc. Engineering or Technologist Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical), Journeyman in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience planning and organizing maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing equipment technologies and limitations, including impacts on: safety, quality, productivity, and cost
  • Familiarity with condition based monitoring tools (vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, ultra sound, laser alignment, etc.)
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawing, Computer Assisted Design (CAD) is an asset
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) and CMMS software packages, Oracle eAM and/or Maximo is an asset
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail in the administration of projects

Responsibilities

  • Develop work plans for maintenance activities containing appropriate work instructions, labour estimates, and material and tool requirements to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the work
  • Prepare weekly schedules for routine maintenance downturns and major equipment shutdowns
  • Conduct regular meetings with maintenance and operations departments to establish maintenance work priorities, as well as coordinate and schedule equipment maintenance activities
  • Work with the maintenance team to develop and continuously improve maintenance programs based on feedback from maintenance activities to improve overall equipment reliability
  • Monitor and prepare regular reports on key maintenance metrics including downtime and cost summaries, schedule compliance, and PM compliance
  • Support Maintenance Supervisor in execution of maintenance schedules and report on performance to continuously improve the accuracy of work plans
  • Performs other duties as they might be assigned
