  • 5-7 years experience maintaining warehouse equipment required (typically 5+ years of related experience)
  • Good working knowledge of practices regarding hazard communication, chemical usage, material safety data sheets, lock out/tag out, emergency evacuation procedures, and emergency generation procedures
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Mental ability to conduct interpersonal interactions with company personnel
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, sit and stand for extended periods, regularly lift/carry up to 40 pounds (frequently up to 40 lbs., adjust/move items up to 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and powered tools, and aptitude for mechanics
  • Ability to move freely through the distribution center
  • Ability to cope with a stressful work environment and cordially interact with coworkers
  • Works under general supervision with broad knowledge of procedures in own work area, basic understanding of other departments' policies, applies support/technical skills to non-routine tasks, exercises judgment, explains complex processes, impacts other jobs, assists with training new employees

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance for all warehouse and office equipment (conveyors, racking, lighting, security, forklifts, material handling equipment, fire protection, plumbing systems), with emphasis on conveyor and sorter systems
  • Maintains logs of all preventive and breakdown maintenance performed on conveyors, forklifts, and fire-protection systems
  • Performs light janitorial duties and other duties as assigned
  • Completes tasks assigned by maintenance supervisor/manager in a safe, timely, and correct manner
  • Frequently lifts and carries up to 40 lbs
  • Maintains positive open lines of communication with all management, staff, and other departments to contribute to smooth flow of information and efficient operation (5% other duties as assigned)
