Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of machining experience
  • Ability to operate and set up conventional machines (lathe and/or mill), Numerical Control (NC) machines and machining centers, and vertical and horizontal mills (floor model)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts
  • Demonstrated skill level on at least two machines: CNC mill, CNC lathe, NC (figure feed rates), manual mill, broach, drill press, rework lathe/press lathe
  • Ability to travel up to 30% and work shift schedule when needed
  • Good interpersonal skills and an inclusive working style

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and operating special purpose equipment, conventional (lathe and/or mill), and/or numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers
  • Fabricating metallic and non-metallic parts to high quality machine standards
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts
  • Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
  • Adjusting machine controls as required
  • Selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
