At Oura, our mission is to empower every person to own their inner potential. With our award-winning Oura Ring and app, we help over 2.5 million people turn insights about sleep, activity, and readiness into healthier, more balanced lives. We believe that starts from within — by creating a culture where our team feels supported, included, and inspired to do their best work. Our values guide how we show up for each other and our community every day.
We are looking for a Machine Learning Data Scientist to join our Women’s Health team, playing a pivotal role in developing and commercializing novel machine learning models and algorithms that leverage wearable health data to improve women’s health outcomes. This role is ideal for an experienced ML expert who has expertise working with health data, is proactive, thrives in ambiguous problem spaces, and brings a balance of hands-on technical depth and strategic thinking.
This is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based in San Francisco, CA. We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings and employee hubs, including New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, and more.
At Oura, we care about you and your well-being. Everyone here at Oura has a ring of their own, and we are continually looking to improve employee health.
Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
Wearable health monitoring smart ring
Oura offers a smart ring that tracks various health metrics, including sleep patterns, heart rate variability, and physical activity. The ring uses advanced sensors to collect data, which is then analyzed and displayed through a mobile app, providing users with insights to improve their health and lifestyle. Unlike many competitors, Oura focuses on a direct-to-consumer model, selling its rings through its website and collaborating with sports teams and health institutions for additional partnerships. The goal of Oura is to help users, including athletes and those with health conditions, optimize their health through data-driven insights.
