Candidates must possess a BA/BTech in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant statistical analysis and machine learning experience, including ML modeling, hyperparameter tuning, feature engineering, and model validation. A background in Epidemiology, particularly in chronic condition modeling, is required, along with 5-7 years of experience selecting, implementing, and optimizing ML tools and frameworks for large-scale projects. Proficiency in Python (3+ years) and experience with deep learning, LLMs (2+ years), large-scale distributed systems, and statistical software like Spark (2+ years) are necessary. Experience addressing challenges with incomplete, unrepresentative, or mislabeled data and a track record of significant contributions to the field through publications, patents, or large-scale implementations are essential. A PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience, working knowledge of Public Health and health-tech systems, strong communication skills for non-technical audiences, experience with sensitive data security, and proficiency in statistical software like R or SAS are preferred.
The Staff AI Researcher will develop and train ML and AI solutions to improve public health outcomes by leveraging extensive medical data. Responsibilities include training and fine-tuning models using novel ML/AI techniques to solve optimization problems, working with large and complex datasets, conducting difficult and non-routine analysis, and harvesting data. The role involves delivering working Proof of Concept (POC) solutions that balance speed, scalability, and time-to-market trade-offs, partnering with engineering and analytics teams to integrate AI technology into existing products and workflows, and harnessing knowledge from medical records, diagnoses, claims, and prescriptions.
