Requirements

  • Full, active, and unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or District of Columbia
  • Graduate of a school of Practical or Vocational Nursing approved by the State Agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
  • Minimum of one-year related work experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience documenting within an Electronic Medical Record
  • Ability to take vital signs, perform phlebotomy blood draws, and perform Point of Care Testing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including performing CPR and operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Ability to pass a FIT test and wear the provided respirator mask when protocol is required
  • Phlebotomy Certificate or phlebotomy experience preferred (if not experienced, must successfully complete internal phlebotomy training)
  • Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection services
  • Administer vaccine injections (including but not limited to COVID-19, influenza, TB, Depo)
  • Assess patients during intake
  • Take vital signs
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG and Retinopathy screening
  • Perform Point of Care Testing (including COVID testing)
  • Perform patient registration and intake
  • Assist with wait room management and other responsibilities to enhance the patient experience
  • Order equipment and prepare the clinic for the best patient experience
  • Provide holistic, evidenced-based care inclusive of accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning
  • Provide education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention, and safer sex practices
  • Provide evidence-based patient/parent vaccine counseling and education
