Cascade Financial Services is seeking a Loan Counselor to serve the American Dream Through Attainable Home Ownership. This is a permanent remote-work role with full desktop equipment provided. We are an established and growing company with local Rapid City management and a corporate office in Arizona, boasting an industry-leading company with great culture and an A+ BBB Ranking.

Responsibilities

As a Loan Counselor, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing a high degree of quality customer service to borrowers.
  • Working with borrowers to ensure timely payments and handle repayment issues.
  • Evaluating borrowers for Loss Mitigation assistance.
  • Making collection calls in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Evaluating borrower information and loan files to determine payment options for minor issues.
  • Determining when a borrower needs to be escalated to loss mitigation.
  • Answering customer inquiries about their mortgage loan.
  • Documenting all communications between borrower and Cascade, and updating the servicing computer system.
  • Communicating with other departments regarding loan payments and/or borrowers.
  • Collaborating with the Collection/Loss Mitigation Manager and Loan Counselor Team Lead to identify problems and improve recovery.
  • Assisting with other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word & Excel experience is a plus.
  • Prior collection experience.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with FHA or mortgage loan programs.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and employees to create a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to adjust easily to work situations based on employee, group, or business needs.
  • Excellent listening, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
