Requirements

Must be a US Citizen with a current/active TS/SCI clearance and willing to obtain a CI Polygraph. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field is required, or four additional years of experience may substitute for the degree. Two years of demonstrated experience in administering Linux-based environments is necessary, along with experience using tools such as Docker/Podman, Packer, and GitLab. The candidate must possess skilled Tier 1 and 2 level support and troubleshooting capabilities for complex environments, be able to support a wide range of tasks including software upgrades, patching, and system monitoring, and be willing to work full-time on-site in Herndon, VA. A self-starter attitude is also required.

Responsibilities

The Linux System Administrator will monitor and address hardware and software outages on the platform, maintain infrastructure for Data Science and Analysis R&D, and assist platform users with troubleshooting and requests. Responsibilities include implementing cybersecurity remediations in cooperation with cybersecurity teams, upgrading and deploying applications, integrating new hardware into compute clusters, and reviewing/updating existing procedures and documentation. The role also involves ensuring platform compliance with customer and Maxar policies and acting as an advocate for Data Science and Analysis needs when facing cybersecurity challenges.
