Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain a 2-20 or 20-44 state insurance license, as required by the State Department of Insurance
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn any other appropriate insurance company and firm software programs

Responsibilities

  • Sells new accounts and renews existing accounts in keeping with firm and individual goals
  • Builds and maintains relationships with clients, prospects, the service team, insurance company partners, and centers of influence while identifying and soliciting sales prospects
  • Gathers information and develops recommendations for prospective clients
  • Presents proposals in a professional manner, reviewing coverages in detail
  • Communicates with clients, prospects, insurance company partners, and service team effectively
  • Finalizes the sale, coordinates collection of deposits, arranges for binders and certificates, and briefs the service team
  • Maintains a concern for accuracy, timeliness, and completion when interacting with clients and partners
  • Maintains understanding and knowledge of insurance industry and underwriting criteria
  • Meets monthly new business goals
  • Positively represents the firm and insurance company partners in the community
  • Performs other functions as assigned by leadership
  • Looks for opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes
