Requirements

  • Mid-level legal counsel with around 4 years of legal experience, about 2 years of which were as an in-house lawyer at a regulated high-growth tech scale-up preferably in consumer, FinTech, SaaS or related sectors
  • Extensive experience working with consumer protection, content, financial services, AI, technology, and data regulations
  • Preferably qualified in the UK, US or Canada
  • Excellent generalist comfortable operating in areas of ambiguity
  • Highly independent with a proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Able to collaborate cross-functionally and advise with a long-term strategic view

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Legal Counsel and advise/partner with teams across the business on a wide range of matters
  • Lead negotiation of bespoke customer agreements, third-party supplier contracts, and other commercial agreements
  • Maintain and improve contract templates and checklists; work with commercial team to optimise contracting process, promote automation/self-service, and collaborate
  • Own contract lifecycle management strategy and collaborate to map key contractual obligations into business processes/controls
  • Lead identification, interpretation, and analysis of evolving regulations in consumer, financial services, digital services, AI, and fintech sectors relevant to Paddle’s global MoR business model
  • Collaborate with Compliance on regulatory issues, legal requirements, and develop/implement policies/procedures for operations and MoR model
  • Optional: Manage regulatory filings and registration requirements across Paddle entities
  • Optional: Assist Data Protection Officer with global data protection programme, advice, documentation, and controls
  • Support resolution of legal/pre-litigation disputes using legal skills and contractual knowledge for favourable outcomes and de-escalation
