Requirements

  • Recognised law degree from a leading university in Malaysia or a common law jurisdiction
  • Admission to the Malaysian Bar, or the equivalent in England & Wales, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Singapore, California or New York
  • 5 to 8 years of legal work experience in a law firm and legal department of a reputable company
  • Legal work experience in logistics or e-commerce (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and advising on NDAs and commercial and procurement contracts in accordance with the Group Contracting Policy
  • Advising on and managing complex tenders
  • Handling and advising on disputes, litigation and arbitration with customers and suppliers
  • Conducting legal research and providing advice on regulatory matters
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Providing clear, constructive, and effective legal and business communication to internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Handling litigation and dispute resolution matters related to commercial issues, including managing external counsel when required
  • Preparing comprehensive legal advice, opinions, and business-oriented memorandums to support decision-making
  • Conducting thorough legal research on commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Advising on and managing ongoing commercial disputes and litigation processes to protect the company’s interests
  • Working on other legal matters and supporting legal department operations as assigned
  • Reporting to Ninja Van Group General Counsel and collaborating with business units in Singapore and other legal team members across Ninja Van Group
