Requirements

Candidates should possess 8+ years of experience managing multi-stakeholder groups, including staff, partner organizations, and volunteers, along with 8+ years of experience in community management or technical event management, specifically with a portfolio of past projects related to technological and social change. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required.

Responsibilities

The Lead Program Manager will independently lead the strategic alignment, design, delivery, and evaluation of critical WMF programs related to volunteer developers and our Hackathons, overseeing all aspects of the programs in their portfolio including alignment, dependencies, and risks. They will manage and facilitate events and workshops, create program materials, lead a team of outreach coordinators, support community organizations, manage budgets, and communicate program outcomes to stakeholders. Additionally, they will build and maintain relationships with community leaders, serve as a spokesperson for the program, and may require international travel for events such as the annual Wikimedia Hackathon and Wikimania Hackathon.
