The role requires the ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in heavy truck or automotive systems including suspensions, steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, and diesel emissions. Expert knowledge and advanced proficiency in chassis components, refuse bodies, air and hydraulic braking systems, engine repair, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and heating/AC systems are essential. Additional skills include performing line maintenance welding, fabrication, complex diagnostics, and providing direction to technicians.
At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience is a plus but not required.
