Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of information security experience in a SOC or CSIRT, with at least one year in a team lead role. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required, along with at least one professional certification in Digital Forensics, Incident Response, or Ethical Hacking (e.g., GCIH, CEH, GCFA). Knowledge of information security management certifications (CISSP, CISM), the Incident Response Life Cycle, MITRE ATT&CK Framework, Cyber Kill Chain, common operating systems, networking, cloud infrastructure, and security technologies is also necessary. Experience with SIEM (e.g., Splunk) and EDR (e.g., CrowdStrike) applications, as well as SOAR technologies, is required.

Responsibilities

The Cyber Defense Lead will monitor daily team operations, acting as the primary liaison between analysts and leadership, and provide advanced support and consultation on investigations. They will oversee response activities for security events and alerts, analyze events using security tooling and logging to assess risk, and monitor for anomalous changes or concerns. The role involves completing assigned caseloads throughout the incident response lifecycle, ensuring incident updates and documentation are performed, and mentoring Cyber Defense Analysts. Additionally, the Lead will be responsible for developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials, and collaborating with CTI and Threat Detection Engineering teams on use case development.
