Requirements

  • 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 7 - 10 years of relevant professional experience in Brand Design/Brand Identity
  • Expert knowledge of all CS software and the Mac platform
  • Strong creative portfolio demonstrating breadth of type, design and photo art direction capabilities, with a focus on Essentials, Hardlines or Apparel & Accessories
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface and present to all levels of the organization
  • Think strategically, critically and creatively
  • Action oriented with ability to prioritize and drive results
  • Desire and ability to learn quickly – self-starting, highly motivated, fast working
  • Collaborative influencer with a clear POV and ability to establish rapport with peers

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative direction for owned brand identities and packaging
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external creative teams and various internal owned brand partners
  • Articulate Target’s brand (voice and culture) to infuse the work with an unmistakable Target approach, seamlessly integrating a multicultural lens
  • Provide the creative vision to guide and inspire internal and external creative teams/agencies to innovate, concept and execute creative solutions
  • Challenge conventional thinking to meet and exceed business and marketing objectives
  • Multi-task and collaborate with partners across creative and marketing disciplines
  • Provide clear, actionable and timely feedback and meet project deadlines
  • Confidently lead the work and leverage influence to build trust, align stakeholders, and sell in creative concepts across the organization
  • Demonstrate excellent taste level and experience in graphic design, typography, systems thinking and photo/art direction
  • Stay current with retail trends and experiences, develop competent base knowledge of categories and guest behaviors, and be a passionate advocate for great design
  • Collaborate closely with Target’s global creative teams, working across time zones to stay connected and aligned on priorities, deliverables, and creative direction
