Requirements
Strong analytical skills for detailed analysis of contracts, budgets, and account balances
Proficiency in financial systems for managing/entering contracts and setting up/updating budgets
Advanced Excel skills for preparing monthly land budget review workbooks and analyzing soft cost budgets
Knowledge of accounting principles, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and land development accounting
Experience with AP systems for invoicing and coding
Ability to perform account analysis and prepare budget vs. actual reclassifications
Familiarity with company policies, procedures, and standards for Land Accounting, including audit preparation
Skills in process management, including maintaining standardized processes, tools, templates, and SOPs
Capability to handle administrative tasks and facilitate records management processes
Responsibilities
Processes land budget changes, analyzes contracts, and ensures accurate reporting of land costs
Manages/enters contracts into financial system and maintains proper electronic support
Sets up and updates land development budgets in financial system
Prepares all land related wire requests
Handles invoicing and coding in company's AP system
Prepares monthly land budget review workbook in Excel for monthly budget reviews with Land and Finance teams
Prepares/analyzes land soft cost budgets
Prepares budget vs. actual reclassifications needed during the month
Maintains standardized processes, tools, templates, best practices, and standard operating procedures; ensures compliance through monitoring and training
Performs detailed account analysis to ensure appropriate accounting for transactions and account balances
Assists with the Division’s quarterly land budgeting/forecasting processes
Ensures 100% compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation requirements and Company-wide policies for Land Accounting, including internal/external audit preparation
Advocates and facilitates continuous improvement efforts and consistency within the Division Team
Builds and manages relationships across the Division to maintain focus on common processes and creating value
Ensures the Division is in compliance with Company Records Management policies
Facilitates the Division’s annual Clean Sweep & Records Retention processes
Performs necessary administrative work, as directed by the Director of Land Acquisition, Division
