Requirements

Candidates should have a minimum of 2-4 years of successful tenure as a Buyer, Retail Buyer, Merchandiser, or a related role, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong retail math, analytical, and critical thinking skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint. It is beneficial to have an interest or experience in tech-related retail as a buyer and experience working within Shopify’s platform.

Responsibilities

The Junior Buyer will source new unique and differentiated tech products from existing or new suppliers, identify and engage with Touch of Modern’s supplier network to book sales events, support the execution of promotions and pricing strategies, negotiate product costs and payment terms, serve as a subject matter expert for their category, collaborate with a team of coordinators to facilitate product information uploads, analyze category/event-level performance, collaborate with the site merchandising team, follow up with vendors to ensure on-time deliveries, build professional relationships with vendors, and prepare reports for vendor meetings and recaps meeting details and action items.
