⭐ About the Reward Team

We are seeking a Job Architecture expert to join our Reward team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will be instrumental in building something from the ground up, contributing to a framework that will help shape the future of Monzo.

Monzo is experiencing rapid growth, and we need a structure that can scale with us. This structure should be fair, clear, and designed to support our people, not hinder them. We want everyone at Monzo to understand their progression paths, how their role contributes to the bigger picture, and how their impact is rewarded. This is your opportunity to create this new structure.

This role is about creating something new, not just tweaking existing systems. You will be responsible for designing how we define roles, approach levels, and connect these to our pay strategy and people systems. You will bring this framework to life, guiding the process and ensuring everyone understands not only what we are doing but why it is important.

🔑 Your Key Role and Responsibilities

This is a company-wide transformation project, not a minor adjustment. You will design the structure that enables Monzo to scale with clarity, fairness, and purpose.

Your work will include:

  • Ownership of Job Architecture: Taking full ownership of researching and establishing Monzo’s future approach to Job Architecture, aligning it with our long-term company vision, growth plans, and evolving technology.
  • Methodology Design: Researching and designing the Job Architecture methodology, associated processes, and how it will be applied and managed on an ongoing basis.
  • Framework Components: Considering how we benchmark roles, define job families and levels, and support career progression.
  • End-to-End Project Leadership: Leading the project from discovery through design to delivery, setting the pace and ensuring successful implementation across the business.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Running key conversations across Monzo, actively listening to teams, shaping solutions, and clearly communicating the final framework and its practical application.
  • Expert Advisory: Acting as our expert advisor, providing clear, strategic guidance rooted in best practices but tailored to Monzo's specific needs.

🤩 What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Extensive Job Architecture Experience: Proven experience in researching, designing, and implementing Job Architecture frameworks with a global perspective, advising on best fit and practice.
  • Role Levelling Expertise: Experience in developing and implementing internal role levelling frameworks and detailed knowledge of market benchmarking techniques.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience in project management, including vendor management.
  • Industry Experience: Experience within Fintech, Startups, or scaling environments.
  • HRIS Understanding: An understanding of the interaction between HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and Job Architecture.
