Position Overview

We are seeking an Investigation Manager to join Monzo’s Financial Crime Operations (Ops) Special Investigations team. This role involves managing approximately 4 investigators focused on insider investigations.

Responsibilities

As an Investigation Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the personal and professional development of your team members.
  • Providing technical coaching on investigations.
  • Driving exceptional individual and collective performance.
  • Guiding team members through challenges and celebrating successes.
  • Holding regular team meetings (individual and group) to ensure engagement and performance.
  • Aggregating team feedback and feeding it up to Fraud Risk to improve processes and protect Monzo.
  • Ensuring investigations are conducted fairly and properly.
  • Managing risks and ensuring correct and consistent outcomes.
  • Fostering an empathetic, high-performance culture within the team.
  • Providing technical coaching, feedback, and advice related to insider investigations.
  • Analyzing and driving improvements in team performance, reporting relevant insights.
  • Monitoring and maintaining service level adherence for the team's work.
  • Communicating and embedding change within the team.
  • Collaborating with the People and Security teams to ensure sound decision-making.
  • Contributing to a strong control environment by minimizing breaches and risk events.
  • Supporting the team in developing processes and guidance for continuous improvement and clarity.

Requirements

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Deep management experience leading teams in a workplace or criminal investigation environment.
  • Experience with current and emerging financial crime and fraud trends and typologies.
  • Experience working with Law Enforcement agencies and third-party suppliers.
  • Technical knowledge of insider fraud investigations.
  • Experience accurately interpreting and representing Specialist management information.
  • Experience building processes and guidance for a specialist team.
