Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency required
  • Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows servers and operating systems
  • Familiarity with the setup and support of TCP/IP networks
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written, interpersonal, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Install and update Veeam Backup and Replication software for NISC members
  • Monitor Veeam Backup and Replication jobs run at NISC member sites and in NISC’s Veeam data center
  • Assist Technical Implementations Team with configuration of Linux and Windows servers and virtual machines
  • Perform OS package and service pack upgrades on existing servers
  • Create and test printers on Windows and Linux servers
  • Install SSL certificates on Linux servers
  • Monitor Windows and Linux servers via Xymon monitoring tools
  • Log and develop action plans for support issues identified by Xymon
  • Ensure that all information is appropriately entered and utilized in the iVUE Support tool
  • Provide IT system and application support to NISC employees and customers in person as well as via phone and e-mail
