Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field of study plus 2 years of sales experience within the Life Sciences field or related experience
  • Required knowledge or experience with:
  • Molecular genetics market knowledge: NGS, qPCR, dPCR, Sanger sequencing, Capillary Electrophoresis, and microarray
  • Experience selling in academic, industrial and federal government accounts
  • Capital sales competence: funnel management skills with strong hunting/prospecting and closing skills
  • Developing and leading a business plan to meet or exceed business goals
  • Manage sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracing using the Salesforce system

Responsibilities

  • Build successful account and territory plans and translate territory strategy into business results
  • Build successful capital equipment sales and large reagent details including funnel management skill and strong hunting, prospecting, and closing skills
  • Create territory planning using market knowledge and accurate and timely forecasting
  • Develop and lead a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon by commercial management for the territory
  • Be responsible for the entire sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of Salesforce system and other designated IT tools
  • Use scientific project and business needs of the customer to position a GA solution (qPCR, Digital PCR, sequencing, and/or microarray) to win the business and actively promote and sell consumables
  • Travel: Up to 75% domestic travel required
