Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, and must be DoD 8570 compliant with IASAE Level 3. A Master’s degree may be substituted for two years of experience, reducing the required experience to eighteen years. Four years of additional ISSE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree, and U.S. citizenship and position-appropriate security clearance (e.g., Active TS/SCI with agency-appropriate polygraph) are required.
The Information Systems Security Engineer will participate as a security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments. They will also participate in the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and/or integration of IA architectures, systems, or system components, and will serve as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams.
